Jaunā albuma recenzija:
The pairing of contrasting yet
complementary male and female vocals is a country music classic, from Dolly and Kenny to Loretta Lynn and Jack White.Joining this storytelling tradition of hard-done lovers and the world-weary mixed with the hopeful is John E Vistic’s ballsy country rocker Long Time Gone, from his forthcoming album Welcome Down the Night. The black-clad Bristol singer-songwriter growls his careworn tale of romantic betrayal (“Damn the day I met you…”) in husky West Country-meets-Nashville tones woven with the limpid tones of Katey Brooks. A story of romantic disillusionment and disappointment, Long Time Gone builds in rich layers of guitar, piano and bass as the two vocals dip and sway against each other like heartbroken dancers at a roadhouse disco. The result is something, which, against the odds, is romantic, dynamic and life-affirming. Listen, on repeat – then go and see them live.
