Eradication festivāls: kā iepumpēt ekstrēmo metālu Velsas asinsritē

Evita Hofmane 07.05.2015. 15:49

Can you tell us a little bit about the idea of Eradication festival?

The idea behind Eradication Festival was to bring the best extreme metal acts worldwide to South Wales. A lot of the bigger bands tend to miss out Wales on UK tours and also we have nothing like this in South Wales so instead of travelling myself further a field for these types of events I thought I would form my own.

What is the toughest part if you want to organize the gig or fest in UK/Wales?

The toughest part for me is staying focused and professional at the events when all I want to do is go mad and mosh to all the great bands, keeping my audience happy can sometimes be tricky but I enjoy the challenge and I feel I do a good job with it. Also not having your event clash with another one in the UK is always an issue as there seems to be loads of new event sprouting out from nowhere these days so bringing something different to the table like Eradication Festival always helps.

How do you consider the metal scene in Wales?

The metal scene in Wales has suffered recently but as you could tell from last weekends Eradication Festival it is still alive and well. Normal gigs seem to have few in attendance but we are hoping to change that with Eradication and other events we will be doing in the lead up to the next weekend of Eradication.

What is the main conclusion you have learned during the years about your life and music being two inseparable things?

My life and music is one thing, music has taken over my life but not in a bad way. I live for all this, I wake up and I am straight on my laptop networking with different bands and promoters and agencies. Its all I think about when I am doing my real job. I am in two bands myself and it keeps me busy and its what I enjoy. My life without music would be very boring indeed.
